Hoop Dreams – this documentary released in 1994 followed two young boys from Chicago – Arthur Agee and William Gates – and their pursuits of basketball stardom. It was groundbreaking and genuine because it captured the real life events – both good and bad – and showed viewers the struggle that so many kids endure each day – and still do to this day 15 years later.
