Talk about a story this child will have to tell.  The unborn child of Kristie Moore, 30, a
member of the Canadian Olympic curling team can always say that he or she was in the Olympics.  Moore is 5 ½ months
pregnant.   She is an alternate (a backup) for the curling team and although they don’t foresee her actually participating, Moore will be entitled to any medal the team wins.

Moore has not been the first expecting women to participate on an Olympic team.  In 1920, Magda Julin, a figure skater, representing Sweden won gold in the ladies’ singles event and in 2006 Diana Sartor from Germany took fourth place in the skeleton.

The Vancouver 2010 Olympics is well underway and the Canadian curling team is favored to win the gold with an extra member on its team.

Would you go for the gold if you were pregnant?
