Pacific Coliseum was lit up yesterday with the opening of the women’s short program for the 2010 Winter Olympics held in Vancouver. The energetic crowd witnessed a night of both stunning performances and some disappointments. Nineteen year old Kim Yu-Na of South Korea, who was favored, captivated the audience from start to finish with her James Bond themed performance. Yu-Na broke her own record by scoring 78.5 points and taking a commanding lead over the competition. The near flawless performance consisted of triple toe loops, triple-lutz, double axel jumps and triple flips. She is expected to take to the ice again on Thursday to compete in the longer free skating program.
What performances had you on the edge of your seat?
