Women’s March Madness 2010 Dates and Venues

Want to amp up the sporting experience? Check out the NCAA Women’s Division Basketball Championships, otherwise known as March Madness. This spectacular event has been drawing crowds and devotees since 1982, building to its most promising year yet. The 2010 season includes the following venues and dates, all leading to the heart-stopping Final Four.

March 20th and 22nd, First and Second Rounds play at these locations:

Maples Pavilion – Stanford, California
Haas Pavilion – Berkley, California
Cameron Indoor Stadium – Durham, NC
Thompson-Boling Arena – Knoxville, TN
Freedom Hall – Louisville, KY
Bank of American Arena – Seattle, WA
Donald L Tucker Center – Tallahassee, FL
Wells Fargo Arena – Tempe, AZ

March 21st and 23rd, First and Second Rounds play at the following:

James H Hilton Coliseum – Ames, Iowa
Frank Erwin Center – Austin, TX
Cintas Center – Cincinnati, OH
Williams Arena – Minneapolis, MN
Ted Constant Convocation Center – Norfolk, VA
Lloyd Noble Center – Norman, OK
Joyce Center – Notre Dame, Indiana
Petersen Events Center – Pittsburgh, PA

Regionals take place March 27 and 29 in the FedEx Forum in Memphis, TN, and the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, CA. On March 28th and 30th, UD Arena in Dayton, OH and the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo will host these games.

And brace yourself for the Final Four, taking place April 4th and 6th at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Tx. Now one of the largest cities in the United States, San Antonio offers many historical tourist attractions for fans staying for the weekend

But it doesn’t stop there. The NCAA is hosting a variety of special events in San Antonio. These activities and programs range from “Middle School Madness”, an essay competition for middle graders, to the NCAA Pinnacle Fitness program, to the Dome Dribble, a free event which features several thousand children dribbling and showing off their best moves down the streets of San Antonio. This culminates with an opportunity to watch the remaining teams practice on Saturday, April 3rd, the day before the Final Four. Autographs are available.
