It’s been a couple weeks and I’m still hurt that my Chicago Bulls didn’t make it to the NBA Finals. Yes, I know, get over it Lesley! Thankfully the incredible skills displayed on the court by the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks has kept me glued to the TV screen. I’m not even sure who I want to win. I think it would be incredible to see Dirk Nowitzki finally get a ring and Jason Kidd. They’ve been in the league so long and are truly deserving. However, it would be cool to see the Eastern Conference champs get some gold – even though they ran through my Bulls to get there.
Game 4 last night in Dallas was no exception. Although I thought Game 1 of this series was a little slow, the last 3 games have been action-packed and as I tweeted ‘not for the faint of heart’. Each team has had their challenges and they vary by game. Sometimes it’s the turnovers, sometimes it’s defense, could be injuries or even illness like Nowitzki experienced last night. Jason Kidd didn’t do much last night for Dallas but it was ok because LeBron didn’t really show up either so they sort of cancelled each other out. Despite his wheezing, sniffing and 102 degree fever, Nowitzki helped pull his team ahead to win Game 4 in the final seconds. These guys are playing each game like it’s their last …and that’s what we fans LOVE to watch.
Game 5 is Thursday in Dallas where the winner will likely be determined by the strategic or lucky play in the final 30 seconds of the game as has been the case in the last 3 games. As a fan, it doesn’t get any better than this…although I wish they could start a little earlier! =o)
