Cover Girl Mo’Ne Davis Makes Sports Illustrated History

It has been an impressive week for one little fanatchick, Mo’Ne Davis.  The 13 year old from Philly first became a household name last week for helping her team get to the Little League World Series.  Mo’Ne pitches 70 miles/hour! That is fast for any 13 year old – boy or girl.  She loves, “hitting homers and striking boys out!”

Sports Illustrated’s latest cover features the young phenom with the caption “Mo’Ne, Remember Her Name“. She has definitely caught the world’s attention and that is not only good for her team but it’s great for the Little League World Series and more importantly to girls!

I love this Instagram post. This is a young lady with confidence, poise and ambition. She’s loves to play baseball and this sport is creating new opportunities for her that may not have otherwise been available. She is handling all of this attention better than some celebrities.  We are very proud of her and her team mates.

Mo’Ne is the perfect example of why our youth development program She Wins! is so important.  Our charity launched this program for girls this summer in Orlando, FL.  You can learn more about our program on our charity website.
